Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you located?
Evolver Tattoo is located in the Strip District at 1906 Penn Ave, 2nd Floor.
Do you do piercings?
At this time we do not do piercings.
Do you take walk-ins?
Evolver Tattoo provides custom tattoos and the artists work by appointment only. On occasion we welcome walk-ins.
Do you tattoo minors?
We abide by Pennsylvania state regulations. If you are age 16 or 17 you need parent or guardian permission to obtain a tattoo. Please have your parent or guardian come with you, with proof of their parentage or guardianship (like a birth certificate). You both need ID. We do not tattoo anyone under the age of 16.
How do I book a tattoo?
It’s vital to us that your tattoo experience be the best possible. We therefore require that each tattoo starts with an in-person consultation. This consultation will give the artist a chance to hear your ideas, review source materials, and establish a plan to bring your vision to life. A $50 deposit is required to set a consultation. This deposit will go toward starting your design and the first tattoo session. To schedule your consultation, click here.
Can I email you or call you?
Yes, but the best way to start the tattoo process is to book an in-person consultation, which you can do here.
Evolver Tattoo artists take pride in ensuring that each tattoo best meets the vision of the client. We want to provide you with our full attention. For that reason, we are often with a client or working on a design, rather than answering the phone or responding to emails. We try our best, but it may take some time before we return an email.
Is there a shop minimum?
Yes, the shop minimum is $80.
How much does a tattoo cost?
Each tattoo project will have unique considerations. Cost may depend on the size and complexity of the design and placement of the tattoo, which our artists need to take into consideration. For these reasons we begin each tattoo project with a consultation session that allows us to assess and from there we can give estimates. To schedule your consultation, click here.
Are you hiring?
We are always open to meeting tattoo artists interested in joining our team. Please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The first step in your tattoo journey is to book an in-person consultation with one of our artists, which you can do here.
After the consultation, your artist will work on the design and schedule your first session directly with you.
Your artist will tell you more details such as how long the session will take and how best to prepare. Typically, we recommend that you eat something beforehand and stay well hydrated throughout the process. We do not recommend taking any pain killers like acetaminophen or ibuprofen, or using any topical products to numb your skin.
To best ensure that your tattoo heals properly, we suggest that you keep your tattoo clean by washing 2 times daily with warm water and mild anti-bacterial hand soap. After each wash, let skin air dry and then apply a light coating of Aquaphor ointment. After one week continue with the routine one time a day till fully healed.
Please do not:
cover your tattoo with sunblock until it's fully healed.
scratch or pick at the tattoo.
wear tight clothing over the tattoo.
go swimming or immerse your body in water (showers are fine)
